Wild Animal Baby Shower Centerpiece

Here are some pictures of the recent centerpiece I did for an upcoming baby shower...

New Year, New Look

After being MIA for so long,, one of my New Year's goals it to get back into crafting and blogging. I have recently set up a facebook page under the name Creative Paper Cutz so to have everything mesh together, I have changed the name of my blog to coinside. My facebook page has some things I have made but mostly it is to sell some things. We are currently in the process of renovating a corner of our garage to make a craft room outside of the house for me. I have quickly outgrown my little corner of our bedroom. LOL  This craft room will give me the space that I need to hopefully start an at home business.

In May of last year, our youngest daughter was diagnosed with a rare disease called Dermatomyositis. If you are interested in learning more about this awful disease you can visit the Mayo Clinic website here. It has been quite an adjustment for our family but we are taking it day by day and hoping that one day there will be a cure.

I am hoping to get some photos posted this weekend of recent projects. :)

I'm late, I'm late...

Here is the belated birthday card I made for my niece. This is the first time I have used the Disney Classics cartridge. I made the image 3 7/8" and had to re-cut a few pieces because my Cricut tore them. All the little pieces are a pain but they sure make for a cute image. ( I realized after I photographed the card that I had forgotten the button on rabbit's vest so I added a dark red rhinestone.)

Supplies:
Disney Classics Cricut cart.
liquid pearls
K & Company alphabet transfers
misc. cardstock
glossy accents

Recycled Box & Prom Corsage

Last weekend was Prom for my son and I wanted to make something for his girlfriend that she could keep. So instead of a corsage (that costs and arm and a leg nowadays) I opted to make her a corsage/bracelet.

This is what I came up with:
I got glass beads and a silk flower from Joann's. I made a 3 strand pearl bracelet and then attached the flower   over the strand connector. I then added a pearl to the center of the flower to pull it together. I think it turned out great and it is something she can wear again and keep forever.

I then found a box to put the bracelet in.

Decorated it all up with scrap paper, ribbon and a flower cut from Flower Shoppe.
(I had to blow the dust off the 'ole Cricut.)

Perfect fit!!

His girlfriend loved it and I received several compliments on it. :)

And finally, the gorgeous couple...

New Year

I just want to apologize to my followers for being so behind on my blog. My New Year has started off so crazy, I haven't had anytime to craft. We have had some lingering illness going through my house (I am finally feeling better after having it for 5 weeks and being on meds), had family visiting over the holiday break, then back to school and into the basketball season. Between coaching Jr High girls and my son's HS games we have 4 BB games this week and 3 BB games this week. Any free time I have had has been spent on trying to get caught up on my housework. That is a never ending battle.

So please bear with me during this crazy time. I am still popping in to visit some of my favorite blogs when I have a second.

Snowflake brownies

I first made a batch of brownies (8 exactly to give as Christmas gifts to family members) and let them cool completely.

While the brownies were cooling, I cut out 9 cardstock snowflakes at 2" from Cricut Winter Lace  cartridge. I poked a small hole in each to put a toothpick in. The toothpicks were really just for me to be able to pick the snowflakes off the brownies with out smudging the powdered sugar.

After I placed my snowflakes, I used a sifter to sprinkle the powdered sugar over top of the brownies. I then used the toothpicks and removed the snowflakes carefully. Voila!! I think they turned out very well.  (FYI- the thicker edged snowflakes had better definition than the frillier ones.)
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
